Acquesi ‘Marengo’ Piemonte Brut
The name Acquesi refers to the small town of Acqui Terme where the winery is based – in the Belle Epoque era it was renowned for its Liberty style architecture (the Italian version of Art Nouveau), and its ideals of elegance, joy and ornamental detail, and this is reflected in the beautiful, intricate design of the etched bottles, which are an absolute show-stopper. The winery is focused solely on the production of top quality sparkling wines and is one of Italy’s most awarded and celebrated sparkling producers.
This sparkling wine is full of elegance and shows that Italy has a lot more to offer than Prosecco. Made from Cortese (the grape used to make one of the most famous white wines of the region, Gavi), it has a pale straw yellow color supported by a delicate perlage. The bouquet is typical of the Cortese grape offering aromas of fresh green apple, peach, and almonds, and a hint of jasmine. With its beautiful etched bottle it is a total showstopper for any event or special occasion.
