Gibson ‘Burke’s Hill’ Riesling
Rob ‘Gibbo’ Gibson has a cracking track record as ‘The Dirt Man’. Before he started his own label about 20 years ago, Gibbo worked for Penfolds as a viticulturalist, looking after some of South Australia’s best vineyards – those that produced the fruit that ended up in Grange. Always up for a laugh, and while crafting amazing classic Barossa styles, Gibbo is now turning his hand to some more emerging styles – watch this space…
Very pale with green tints. Lifted floral aroma of citrus and citrus blossom. Lively balance fresh and stylish , lovely chalky texture showing crystal clear lemon and grapefruit flavours with extraordinary length on the palate.
92 Points – James Halliday’s Wine Companion
‘Estate 1960s vines. A generous and exuberant Eden Valley riesling brimming with frangipane fragrance and a spicy, fleshy palate of fig, apricot and kaffir lime. The vibrant acidity of cool nights carries a long, streamlined finish that brings definition and direction to its juicy curves.’
