Darren’s friendship with Ben Chapman goes back 20 years, when they worked together at one of Brisbane’s leading wine retail groups. The two of them would squirrel away funds from buying and selling cellars and together bought a small tinny that they would use on rare days off to go fishing in Moreton Bay. Eventually the Barossa lured Ben back home, where he and his wife Maddie would bite the bullet and purchase what remains of the historic Welland vineyard in Nuriootpa. We are delighted to be ranging their first vintage – not only is it great to support such a good mate, the response to their wines has been simply outstanding, so we know we are bringing you something special.
