Willoughby Park Kalgan River Chardonnay
We have been really impressed with the development of the Great Southern region over recent years – it has become a real insider tip for beautiful aromatic whites in particular. The Willoughby Park vineyard is located at the extreme edges of the Porongorup Ranges to the east of Albany and less than 20km from the chilly waters of the Southern Ocean, and has been described by James Halliday as a ‘mighty mouse of a vineyard’. The Rieslings and Chardonnays are exceptional and deliver outstanding value when compared to Margaret River prices – perfect wines for those balmy Queensland evenings!
$30.00
A wine to delight lovers of big, rich Chardonnay with bags of ripe fruit flavour. The nose is lifted with delicious stone fruit, ripe citrus and a hint of toasty nuttiness. On the palate it is rich and round – the 10 months of maturation in fine French oak lends a delicious biscuity backbone to the wine, and beautiful crisp acidity keeps everything in perfect balance. It’s delicious stuff.
