Our Winter Warmers dozen contains 3 of each of the following delicious, rich reds. The only decision you have to make is which to open first:

3x Colours of the South Rosso, Barossa Valley
Vibrant colour, aromas of red berry, florals, herbs, orange peel and sweet spice resembling red wine-based vermouth. A lively palate crisp with great mouthfeel showing elements of each variety – the Negroamaro adding floral, citrus and the spice element, Montepulciano adding the red berry fruit, with Aglianico giving rose and dried herb element.

3x Poderi dal Nespoli ‘Prugneto’ Sangiovese Superiore, Romagna, Italy
One of our favourite Sangioveses, this is super rich and ripe, with a creaminess you just don’t get from Chianti. It has a bright ruby red color with an intense bouquet of fine red fruits. On the palate, the freshness pairs well with soft tannins, notes of violet, cherry and plums, and a rich, creamy mid-palate. The finish is long and spicy. A  percentage of the wine is aged in fine French barrels to enhance both complexity and structure.

3x Maverick ‘The Twins’ Cabernet Blend, Barossa Valley
We’re big fans of a good Cabernet blend, especially if there is a good slug of Cab Franc in the mix! This wine does not disappoint – it’s beautifully balanced with plenty of vibrant cassis, dark chocolate and soft spicy notes, all supported by elegant French oak.

3x High Fidelity Malbec Cabernet – Adelaide (Langhorne Creek & McLaren Vale)
Does anything say winter like a good Malbec? If a juicy steak is on the agenda in the coming week, this is the rich, hearty wine to pair it with. The Malbec contributes bright plum, blueberry and violet flavours, while the Cabernet gives the wine its structure and length, with dark fruits and notes of tobacco leaf. Satisfyingly rich on the palate, the wine manages to strike the perfect balance between vibrancy and plushness.
