We're Darren and Amy - the faces behind Davis & White, Queensland’s leading wine events company, wine auction house and fine wine retailer. Between us we have over 40 years of experience in the industry, but we don't like to dwell on that - it makes us feel old!
We have built our business by getting to know our customers and tailoring our services to each and every one, because after all, wine is a personal thing. If you call us, we answer. If you visit us you'll find us at the warehouse, selecting and packing individual wine club boxes for our members or cataloguing auction stock, and you'll probably meet our beagles.
Wine is about so much more than what is in your glass - it becomes so much more special and memorable if you are in good company. This industry has allowed us to make so many wonderful friends and share some incredible experiences along the way - we hope you will make it along to one of our events sometime soon, have a glass with us and join in the fun!

Presenter, entertainer, retailer, restaurateur, brand ambassador, wine judge – you name it, Darren has done it.
Over the last two decades Darren has been behind the development some of Queensland’s most successful wine retail groups, as well as launching his own destination wine-bars in Brisbane, where wine-lovers would flock to enjoy a unique selection of boutique and back vintage wines. However, his real passion is ‘opening bottles and telling stories’ - he is never happier than when he is hosting a decadent long lunch where he can share his great knowledge and passion for the Australian wine industry with fellow wine lovers and all-round bon vivants. From back vintage masterclasses, to boardroom tastings to those infamous long lunches – whatever the format, Darren will be bringing wines to life with a smile on his face and a glass in his hand.
Nowadays Darren has found perfect harmony in his life by balancing that glass of wine with a gavel in the other hand, launching QLD's first dedicated wine auction house in 2020. Darren is a qualified and licensed auctioneer - who knows what he might turn his hand to next?
AMY WHITE

Amy fell in love with the industry whilst studying for her degree in modern languages in Europe. Cutting her teeth at one of the UK’s oldest wine merchants based on London's infamous Fleet Street, she received an education in wine most can only dream of, whilst sharing her knowledge by hosting tasting events in boardrooms and restaurants across the City of London and beyond. She went on to provide on-premise consultancy to some of the world's biggest drinks brands and hotel chains.
2011 saw Amy lured to Australia with a rough idea of ‘doing vintage’ and a one year working holiday visa in her hand. The plan backfired when she saw the purple stained hands and steel capped boots, and realised that being a winemaker was not for her! She found her place at a boutique McLaren Vale winery that she ran for over 12 years, as well as building a wholesale business that produced, imported and distributed boutique wines across Australia.
At the beginning of 2023 Amy took the leap and joined Darren full-time in the business, though she still talks of importing wines from some of the fantastic producers she has met and befriended over the years, so watch this space!
