Aramis Vineyards The Heir Syrah
Aramis is blessed with a very special vineyard site just 2km from the Gulf St Vincent in South Australia’s McLaren Vale. While in high demand from some of the region’s most prestigious brands, they select and hold back a number of the best parcels of fruit to create their own wines, which offer outstanding value for money and are well worth seeking out.

The Heir is Aramis’ young pretender – made to celebrate the coming of age of their most precious Shiraz vines. Showcasing their uniquely elegant style, The Heir is a perfect balance of power and restraint. Savour its heady flavours of cassis and mocha, its classic earthy undertones, its subtle smoky French oak notes, all interwoven with a fine tannic structure. Enjoy in its youth or appreciate its softer side in years to come – the choice is yours.
94 Points – James Halliday Wine Companion 2018
“Aged for 24 months in subtle French oak, 40% new and of a larger format than that used for the Shiraz, this is densely furled and altogether more carnal in its aromatic florals, cinnamon spice and smoked meat aromas, singed with a hint of reduction, than its softer brethren. Boysenberry and other blue drift across the rich palate. Grippy and in need of time.”
