Ballycroft Cabernet Sauvignon
Joe Evans loves to let everyone know that he is the smallest winemaker in the Barossa, but make no mistake – what he lacks in height he more than makes up for in personality, and his wines are certainly some of the biggest in the region! We’ve followed Joe on his winemaking journey from working cellar doors at Rockford and Greenock Creek to launching his own brand with wife Sue in 2005, and the wines are consistently some of the most popular at our many Barossa events. Production is tiny – a few hundred dozen each year, but the wines are intense, and the vineyards maintained immaculately by the winemaker himself. The labels pay tribute to the history of the property, which was formerly the Ballycroft cheesery run by Sue and her sister Tracy up until 2011.

Bright crimson red wine with dark cherry and sweet raspberry flavour with hints of apple mint. Same fruits flow through to the palate with the addition of black olive and very smooth rounded integrated almond oak. This wine is fruit driven and carries the 28 months in older French Oak with ease. Balanced wine will live for more than 10 years.
