Diez Cabellero Rioja Crianza
Diez Caballero is a small winery located in Rioja Alavesa (the smallest and most prestigious of the three Rioja districts), in the beautiful village of Elciego. Third generation owner Victoria is a real tour de force – we call her Queen Victoria, such is her presence in and around Elciego. She is absolutely passionate about Australia as her other love has always been fashion, so much so that she has sponsored students to study fashion in Melbourne. Her wines are somewhat unique in this part of the world as they follow the Bordeaux tradition of using only fruit from estate owned vineyards.

A beautifully crafted Rioja in the classic style. Layers of dark berry fruit and hazelnut chocolate are met with a touch of minerality and smooth, silky notes of toasty vanilla from the combination of French and American oak. Tannins are soft and perfectly integrated. Absolutely top drawer stuff for a wine at Crianza level – simply superb value!
