Domaine de la Biscarelle Côtes du Rhône
Domaine de la Biscarelle is a super boutique winery located on the outskirts of Chateauneuf-du-Pape. Whilst they still maintain 5 hectares within the golden appellation, the rest of their vineyards are located literally on the other side of the road that forms the boundary to the district, meaning that the wines from these vines may only carry the Côtes du Rhône name on their labels. Despite this, the quality of these wines is evident from the moment the cork is pulled – their depth and complexity elevate them way beyond their labels, and mean outstanding value!

Red fruits of dark cherry and raspberry abound on the nose, with delicate floral notes and the spicy, peppery undertones that give the wine its sense of place. On the palate it is fresh and exuberant with well-integrated tannins – not overpowering, but fragrant and highly drinkable. Meaty charcuterie notes and leather, so characteristic of French Syrah, come through as the wine opens up.
