Heggies Vineyard Museum Release Riesling
Heggies Vineyard is owned by the renowned Hill-Smith family, and lays claim to being one of the highest vineyards in South Australia. As James Halliday comments, ‘Since its first vintage in ’79, Heggies has established itself as a top flight Riesling vineyard’ – we couldn’t agree more. Year on year it develops taut and balanced Rieslings with a pronounced minerality.

We’ve been lucky to have got our hands on a small quantity of the delightful 2016 Riesling from the ever-outstanding Heggies Vineyard. This wine scored a wonderful 95 points and an ‘outstanding value’ award from James Halliday himself when he tried it in 2021, highlighting that this Riesling has continued to improve in bottle. Its citrussy flavours and tight minerality have softened and evolved over time, yet there remains a delicious line of acidity to keep the wine fresh.
