La Prova Pinot Grigio
Sam Scott was one of the first winemakers I (Amy) had the pleasure of working with when I first arrived in Australia, proudly distributing what was then his very small range of wines in South Australia and Victoria. Sam’s humble larrikin persona always belied his outstanding winemaking ability and intense passion for Italian varietals, exemplified in the superb La Prova range. Back in the days when few in Australia had heard of Fiano, Aglianico or Nero d’Avola, Sam was convinced they were the future of South Australian winemaking – perfect for Adelaide’s Mediterranean climate. He was one of the early champions of these styles, patiently convincing sommeliers and retailers alike of a brave new world beyond Sauvignon Blanc and Shiraz. While the wine community has, over the years, come to embrace Italian varietals as their own, his wines remain some of the best examples of these delicious, dare we say smashable, styles.

This is crisp and vibrant Pinot Grigio at its finest. Zesty citrus and crunchy apple/nashi pear flavours take centre stage, combining to create a lively and intense profile on the palate. Classic, flavourful, quintessential Pinot Grigio.
