Mocandunda Kindest Cut Riesling (Half Bottle)
The Mocandunda vineyard supplies fruit for many of the region’s most renowned wines, and retains only a small quantity for their own label. The brand is owned by three legends of the industry in South Australia, including viticulturalist Rodger Ackland, who not only founded Mount Horrocks in the 1980s but has planted many (if not most) of the vineyards in Clare. The rustic cellar door knocks out a good pizza too – worth stopping by if you are in the area.

If you are looking for an elegant and decadent way to polish off a beautiful meal, look no further. This cane cut Riesling is the epitome of luxury; on the nose it is a complex amalgam of citrus – brown lime cordial and mandarin together with baked apple, caramel and hints of spice. The palate is rich and luscious, with ripe fruit flavours and intense sweetness, balanced by a tangy acidity that delivers a long, cleansing finish.
This wine will pair perfectly with fruit based desserts but if you are feeling adventurous, drink it the French way to accompany smoked salmon or even pâté.
