We have long been enthusiastic about the wines of Emilia-Romagna as being an outstanding alternative to more famous Sangiovese from Chianti. Why? They have a richness and roundness that is not often achieved in Chianti, and this combined with lower acidity, makes these wines far easier to drink, particularly when enjoying without food. The wines of Poderi dal Nespoli are a terrific example of this, with both depth of flavour and sheer drinkability, made with great respect for the land and traditions of the region. A delicious expression of Sangiovese from Romagna. It has a bright ruby red color with an intense bouquet of fine red fruits. On the palate, the freshness pairs well with soft tannins, notes of violet, cherry and plums, and a rich, creamy mid-palate. The finish is long and spicy. A percentage of the wine is aged in fine French barrels to enhance both complexity and structure.
