Sokol Blosser ‘Evolution’ Pinot Noir
Sokol Blosser was one of Oregon’s pioneering vineyards, planting vines in the beautiful Willamette Valley (just a short drive out of Portland), a good decade before the region was recognised as a wine-growing region. Their brave decision was soon proved right as the Willamette Valley established its reputation as the USA’s world-class Pinot Noir region. The cooler climate ensures the wines have little resemblance to their Californian neighbours – these are elegant wines, lighter in colour and on the palate, with soft summer fruits and a characteristic earthiness, rather than the rich, plummy flavours of classic California Pinot.
$45.00
This is a deliciously versatile Pinot with beautifully bright summer fruit flavours and notes of earthiness and spice, backed up by a touch of toasty oak. Medium-bodied and with a lively and supple palate it works with or without food, and loves a quick chill. Stunning value from one of our favourite Pinot regions!
