Soumah ‘Hexham Vineyard’ Pinot Noir
Soumah is one of the rising stars of the Yarra Valley. With an enviable ‘dress-circle’ position at the base of the Warramate Hills, south of the Maroondah Highway (Sou…Mah… get it?), they focus on the classic Yarra varietals of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Shiraz, as well as developing an exciting range of Northern Italian varietals. Their gorgeous trattoria with its floor to ceiling windows overlooking the vineyards is well worth a visit if you are in the area.
$45.00
A light and pretty Pinot, it has a delightfully semi-translucent colour in the glass. On the nose it is perfumed with scents of soft cherry and strawberry, along with a hint of spice. Once on the palate it maintains its elegance, with the primary summer fruit and rhubarb flavours met by notes of cedar and forest floor, leading to a delicious, lifted finish.
