Streicker Ironstone Block Old Vine Cabernet Sauvignon
Clairault Streicker is a simply outstanding Margaret River producer – if you haven’t heard of them, yes you have been missing out! With four well established vineyard sites that span the region and superstar WA winemaker Bruce Dukes at the helm, they have the perfect formula to create magnificent, expressive wines. Their Yallingup vineyard is also home to a stunning protea farm, the inspiration for the featuring of a different species of protea on each of their Streicker labels.
The Streicker wines are renowned for being on the richer, riper end of the Margaret River spectrum and this delicious Cabernet does not disappoint. The wine opens with opulent dark fruit and supple tannins, leading to intense cassis, dark chocolate and ripe cherry. A good lick of expensive French oak adds further complexity and weight. It’s a powerhouse of a wine yet retains its classic, expressive Margaret River flavour profile.
