This is outstanding value for two wines with perfect Barossa pedigree…

3 x Soul Growers Equilibrium 21
The name Equilibrium has always been spot on for this delicious wine – it is the perfect balance of poise and power. Upfront it is all bright, spicy dark berry fruits but there are intriguing hints of mocha and pepper that linger in the background, leading to a soft and smooth finish. This is not the kind of Barossa GSM that is going to knock your head off, it is a medium to full bodied wine that benefits from Stuey’s finesse and restraint.

3 x Bass Line Shiraz 21
This beautifully balanced Shiraz exudes lifted and perfumed notes of fresh red fruit, together with a hint of toasty oak character. on the palate it is full-bodied yet elegant, exuding the classic depth and vibrant fruit flavours so characteristic of the Barossa, without the excessive palate weight. Stuey uses his unique knowledge and relationships to source parcels of Shiraz fruit from 6 different vineyard sites around the Barossa Valley, and finishes the wine with just a smidge of fruit from the Adelaide Hills to enhance the elegance and structure of the wine. Made using traditional techniques, it is matured for 20 months in a combination of French puncheons and hogsheads (15% new) before bottling.

We’ve known Paul Heinicke for nearly 20 years, only a couple of years shy of the year Soul Growers was established in 1998. This is a brand whose roots run deep into the Barossa, as evidenced by the name and the logo which symbolises the history of the vineyards, the importance of growers and the handing down of knowledge from generation to generation.  Paul’s respect for the land and the experience of those who have come before is matched by Stuey Bourne, one of the Barossa’s most renowned winemakers, whose own connection with the region’s most important growers is unparalleled. Their aim is to capture the spirit of the region and create a fitting tribute to their growers, the ‘soul’ of the Barossa.
