Warramunda LivZak Pinot Noir
Warramunda Estate is located in the very prestigious Coldstream district of the Yarra Valley – originally known as Warramunda Station it operated as a sheep and cattle stud until the late 1990s, when its incredible potential as a vineyard site was recognised. Owned by the Magdziarz family – veterans of the Melbourne hospitality scene, the estate is now producing exceptional wines at some very reasonable prices compared to its neighbours. The LivZak wines are the project of daughter Liv, who is currently studying winemaking as a side hustle to her main job as a professional television/film makeup artist (you may be able to guess this from her bespoke labels).
$35.00
This is classic Yarra Valley Pinot – light, elegant and very moreish. On the nose there are aromas of sweet strawberries, raspberries and rich Christmas cherries, leading to a palate that is fresh and vibrant with a racy line of acidity that carries juicy, bright red currants and summer berries and a fine, supple tannin structure. Chill it down slightly to enjoy at its finest.
